Time, Tempo, and Meter : Tempo : Conform to Tempo

Conform to Tempo
Pro Tools lets you conform clips on Elastic Audio-enabled tracks (both sample- and tick-based) to the project tempo. If necessary, the Conform to Tempo command analyzes the selected clips to determine its tempo and duration (in bars and beats), and then applies Elastic Audio processing to conform the clip to match the project tempo.
To conform a clip to the project tempo:
1. Select the clip you want to conform to the project tempo.
2. Do one of the following:
*Choose Clip > Conform to Tempo.
*Right-click the clip you wan to conform to tempo and select Conform to Tempo.
Pro Tools analyzes the clip’s entire file for Elastic Audio events and tempo. If a tempo is detected, and a duration in bars and beats is determined, the clip conforms automatically to the project tempo. If a tempo and duration is not detected (such as with a clip that is a single drum hit or with a long clip with no clear tempo), the clip is not conformed to the project tempo.
*You can also use telescoping warp in Warp view to manually conform a long clip to the project tempo. See “Telescoping Warp” on page 571.
*Conform to Tempo can only be applied to clips and cannot be applied to clip groups. To conform clip groups to the tempo, ungroup the clip group, then apply Conform to Tempo to the underlying clips, and then regroup those clips.
