Distribute and Promote your Music on the Avid Community : Add Tracks to your Portfolio

Add Tracks to your Portfolio
You can save any number of tracks to your library on Avid Community. These tracks are uploaded to the cloud storage where you can then choose to share them with other Community members.
Your entire storage space is limited to 1 GB in total, and each sound file can be a maximum of 250 MB in size. If your file is over this length, you will not be able to upload it.
You may upload audio content that you have created yourself or for which you own the copyrights. You can also upload content for which you have all rights and permissions in place from the copyright owners to publish on Avid Artist Community.
*In the future, you will be able to post your creations directly from Avid Pro Tools. At this time, a manual upload is necessary.
To add a track:
1. Select the Home page.
2. At the top right corner of the page, select Manage Portfolio.
Any tracks added to your library must be saved within a collection. (A collection is a good way of grouping your tracks for presentation to the Avid Artist Community of listeners and creators.)
3. Optional. Select an existing collection, or if you have not created a collection as yet, click Add a New Collection and add the necessary details.
4. Click the right arrow to expand the collection.
5. Click Add a New Track.
6. Click Upload New.
7. Select the file (wav or mp3) that you want to add as a track in your library.
8. Click the large purple icon to add a cover photo for your sound track.
9. Select the file that you want to add as a cover photo and resize it as necessary.
By uploading this track to the Artist Community, you confirm that the sound file does not infringe on any copyright acts. Click the link for Read the Terms of Use and Conduct Guidelines for Avid Artist Community.
10. While the file is uploading, add a title for your track and a description of the sound.
After the file is uploaded, a waveform of the file is displayed.
11. If you have not already done so, select the Collection to which this track will belong.
12. Add tags that identify the sound that you are posting so that others will find it when they enter their search words.
As you enter words, the drop down list will display so that you can choose from a library of categories. Select as many tags as you would like to apply to your track.
13. When a file is loaded, any metadata such as the bit depth or sample rate that is already associated with the file is displayed in the Metadata section.
*In the future, any metadata associated with your Pro Tools project will be propagated (via the PXF file) to the track information posted here.
14. Add names of other artists that have collaborated on the creation of this track. Press Enter each time you add a new name.
15. Click Save.
