Mixdown : Recording a Submix (with Export Audio Mix)

Recording a Submix (with Export Audio Mix)
You can create a submix with the Export Audio Mix command by muting tracks or bypassing inserts that are not part of the submix, and selecting the part of the project you want to export; or, you could solo only the audio you want to export.
You can also create a submix by recording to new tracks.
To export a submix to disk:
1. Configure your submix using sends, Auxiliary Inputs, and Master Faders. (See “Signal Routing for Monitoring and Submixing” on page 779.)
2. Do one of the following:
*To export the entire project, click Return to Zero in the Transport to go to the beginning of the project.
*To export a portion of the project, make a selection in the Edit window.
3. Choose File > Export > Audio Mix.
4. Configure Export options and settings.
5. Verify the bit resolution for the export file matches the bit resolution of the project.
6. Verify the sample rate for the export file is supported by the project and the audio interface.
7. If required, verify the file type and format for the exported file matches the file type and format of the project.
8. Click Export.
To bring exported files back into tracks, do one of the following:
*Enable the Import after Export option prior to exporting. Once exported files are imported to the Clips List, you can drag and drop them to tracks.
*Import the exported file into the project using the Import Audio command (File > Import > Audio).
*Drag and drop the exported file from a Workspace browser or the desktop.
