Importing and Exporting Audio and MIDI : Importing Audio from Audio CDs

Importing Audio from Audio CDs
Pro Tools lets you import tracks from audio CDs using the same methods that you use to import audio files, as follows:
Drag CD audio from the CD folder.
Drag files from a Workspace Browser.
Use the Import command.
*Importing CD audio with either drag and drop method lets you continue working with the project in the foreground (such as in the Mix or Edit window), while the Task Manager (Window > Task Manager) works in the background (importing and converting the audio until the import is completed). For more information on the Task Manager, see “Task Manager Window” on page 119.
Because the transfer is made in the digital domain, there is no signal loss.
The sample rate for audio CDs is 44.1 kHz. Therefore, if your project’s sample rate is set to 48 kHz or higher, Pro Tools | First will convert the sample rate for the imported audio.
