Pro Tools | First Projects
The first step in working with Pro Tools | First is creating a new project. Pro Tools | First lets you create and manage projects for music creation with audio and MIDI. Projects are stored online in you MyAvid Cloud account and can be accessed from any Avid-qualified computer running Pro Tools | First anywhere in the world. All that is required is Pro Tools | First software and access to your MyAvid account. Pro Tools | First provides a limited number of projects for free.
All media imported, generated, or recorded in your project is cached locally and automatically uploaded to your secure MyAvid account cloud storage space. By caching media locally, Pro Tools | First lets you work on your project even when you are not online. Additionally, if you disconnect from the Internet while working on your project, Pro Tools | First automatically resumes uploading any new media the next time you connect to the Internet.
When creating new projects, either from a template or not, the project imports and records all audio media as 32-bit Floating Point WAV files. The sample rate will be the sample rate of your audio interface as displayed in the Playback Engine dialog (Set Up > Playback Engine).
The time it takes to upload and download project data varies depending on your Internet connection and the size of the associated media files. Upload and download progress can be monitored in the Task window (Window > Task Manager).
*Pro Tools | First provides a limited number of projects to begin with, but you can always purchase additional projects as needed through your MyAvid account.
